So what have you been up to in the new year? How many resolutions made? And how many broken already?
Have you moved on to eating healthy? Trying to undo effects of the holiday season debauchery?
Me? I am still knee-deep in Christmas candy…
And I of course cannot move on to the healthy stuff till the candy is finished. Eaten, gifted, generally gotten rid of…
I had some marzipan-egg white mixture left over from the Kransekage Cupcakes I made for New Year’s Eve and I had some Hershey’s Kisses.
Put them together and voila… these dainty little Marzipan Kisses were born. Aren’t they lovely?
Hello, you pretty little things, I could just eat you up.
These are one of the easiest sweets I have ever made and they look so fancy, thanks to the Hershey’s Kisses. Next time you are in the mood for some sweet, delightful nibbles, look no further.
And they taste as good as they look. Delicious marzipan and Milk Chocolate, how can you go wrong with that combination?
Here’s the recipe.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Makes: Approx. 30 kisses
250 grams Marzipan
150 grams Icing Sugar
60 grams Egg White (from approx. 2 small eggs)
30 Hershey’s Kisses
Preheat oven to 200C.
Combine marzipan and icing sugar in a bowl and beat with an electric beater (or combine in a food processor).
Add the egg whites and mix till combined.
Fill the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large star nozzle. Pipe stars onto a baking sheet.
Bake the stars for 10-12 minutes till the edges start to brown slightly.
In the meantime, unwrap the Hershey’s Kisses.
Take the baking sheet out of the oven and while the stars are still hot, place a Hershey’s Kiss on each star and press down slightly.
Leave to cool. Serve at room temperature.
